Objectives
The objectives of the Experiential tourism for sustainable rural development (EXTOR) project are the following:
- Encourage the EU exchange of success stories and the analysis of VET needs, the adoption of environmentally sustainable solutions and the creation of new networks and communication channels, which will result in the upskilling of the workforce in rural areas thanks to tailored training in sustainable tourism and in enhanced ability of rural communities to actively contribute to local development;
- Update the VET offer in rural tourism by designing a common framework, in line with the changing priorities of economy and society, enhancing VET providers’ and trainers’ competences through a tailored training programme and kit on how to use it and by providing VET learners with the chance to apply the newly acquired knowledge for better visibility of their products/services;
- Facilitate access to VET offer, by designing a cutting-edge blended learning programme, responding to different learning preferences, overcoming space limits and enabling learners to complete it at their own pace. Moreover, guided by a tailored kit of instructions, VET providers will be able to replicate EXTOR training programme and adapt it to their learners’ needs, supporting continuing vocational training.
