DigInRur – Digital Innovation in Rural Tourism
Discover local products, authentic experiences, and sustainable and regenerative business ideas in rural tourism
This space brings together local products and sustainable tourism experiences in rural areas of Austria, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Iceland, and Spain. As part of the pilot activities of the EXTOR training program, students and entrepreneurs have been working on the creation of digital products to showcase traditions, typical products, and authentic local experiences built around community involvement. The initiatives promote short supply chains, low-impact tourism, and the enhancement of local heritage, culture, and natural resources. Each product or service is promoted through a detailed information sheet and promotional videos to support market visibility and rural development.
This space highlights vocational education and training (VET) programs tailored to sustainable rural tourism in rural areas of Austria, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Iceland, and Spain. The initiatives aim to provide students and local entrepreneurs with practical skills in developing tourism businesses in rural areas, with a view to creating innovation in the hospitality sector and in sustainable and regenerative practices.
This space presents some business ideas developed during workshops and pilot activities of the EXTOR Training Program by students and new entrepreneurs. These ideas focus on restoring ecosystems, empowering local communities, and creating socioeconomic benefits for rural communities. Each idea is presented through an engaging PowerPoint business presentation.
