Experiential Tourism for sustainable Rural development

A few days ago we began presenting our Common Framework to sketch out the rural tourism sector in Europe, interviewing rural entrepreneurs and professionals and gathering suggestions and feedback on our training program.![]()

But what do we mean by Common Framework ?![]()

We understood it as a tool to frame regulatory aspects, trends, needs, and strengths/weaknesses of rural tourism in order to discuss with those who are fully involved in this sector and are willing to get involved to understand its future prospects.![]()

If you are a tourism professional and/or rural entrepreneur working or would like to work in this sector, please contact the organisation closest to you ! The EXTOR project is now active in Italy, Spain, Austria, Greece, Cyprus and Iceland, with technical support in Belgium. ![]()

Not only does this project contribute to bridging the urban-rural divide, but also brings local stories to live through their theatrical performances, strengthening the local identity of the community. The Freezer provides an impactful cultural value to the region with this combination of theatre, hostel, and events venue in an isolated community.![]()
